What it is

Executive training, not staff training

Security awareness training for staff is usually delivered online to the whole workforce. Executive training is different because it is built around the decisions only leaders make: approving payments, setting budgets, signing off policy, and answering to customers and regulators when something goes wrong.

The Verizon 2025 Data Breach Investigations Report found that around 60% of breaches involved a human element, and the people with the most authority carry the most risk.

What we cover

Protecting your business, and your personal life

Attackers do not separate your work life from your home life, so we do not either. Every risk we cover comes with a plain-English explanation and what to do about it.

Your business

The attacks aimed at leaders

How phishing, CEO fraud, impersonation and social engineering target executives, and the warning signs that are easy to miss, from urgent payment requests to a travelling boss who asks you to keep a transaction confidential.

Your business

Decisions that reduce risk

Practical governance, culture and training choices that turn your people from the biggest vulnerability into the strongest defence, including dual authorisation for payments and call-backs on known numbers.

You personally

Your digital footprint

See what is already out there about you, from leaked email addresses and phone numbers to your home address, and how attackers combine it with your LinkedIn profile and media appearances.

You personally

Safer at home

Simple habits for your personal accounts, devices and home network that protect you and your family, and close the back door into your business.

How it runs

A conversation, not a presentation

Each workshop lasts 45 minutes: a 30-minute workshop followed by 15 minutes of open Q&A. No technical knowledge is needed.

  1. Opening scenario

An urgent Teams call from your CFO and two colleagues asks you to approve a transfer before a deal closes. The faces and voices are familiar. What would you do?

    5 mins
  2. Why leaders are targeted

How financial approvals, board access and a public profile make senior leaders the highest-value targets in any organisation.

    5 mins
  3. Live deepfake demonstration

A live demonstration of AI voice and video cloning, showing how convincing an impersonation can be and what to look for.

    7 mins
  4. Career and personal impact

Reputational damage, personal liability, identity theft and fraud. Why this is a risk to you as an individual, not just an IT problem.

    4 mins
  5. Practical defences that work

The small number of proven controls that stop most real-world attacks, for your organisation and for your personal accounts, devices and home.

    6 mins
  6. Key lessons

A summary of the themes that matter most, connecting personal risk to business consequence.

    3 mins
  7. Q&A and next steps

An open floor for your leadership team's questions, and one clear next step for protecting your organisation.

    15 mins

Who it is for

Built for the people who own the risk

Cyber security is a leadership decision, not just an IT one. This workshop is for the people who set budgets, sign off policy and answer to regulators when something goes wrong. It works best with the whole leadership team in the room.

  • Chief executives
  • Finance directors
  • Board members
  • Non-executive directors
  • Operations leads
  • Heads of IT
  • Business owners

Why HackRisk

Why choose us for executive workshops

Built on accredited experience

Each workshop is built on the experience of CyberLab's CREST and CHECK-accredited security team, so what your leaders see reflects how real attacks are carried out today.

A live deepfake demonstration

Rather than describing AI impersonation, we show it. Seeing a convincing clone in real time is what changes how leaders verify urgent requests.

Your business and your home

We cover the risks to your organisation and to you personally, including your digital footprint, personal accounts and family, because attackers target both.

Built for decision-makers

No technical knowledge needed and no jargon. The workshop is designed for boards and the C-suite, focused on the decisions only leaders make.

Actions you can use today

In 45 minutes your team leaves with practical, prioritised steps they can put in place the same day, for the business and at home.

Ongoing protection with HackRisk

Every session includes onboarding to the HackRisk platform, so leaders can keep monitoring their exposure long after the workshop ends.

Compare

Executive workshop, tabletop exercise or awareness training?

Three different jobs. If you want everyday habits across the whole workforce, you want security awareness training; this workshop is for the people attackers impersonate.

FAQs

Executive workshop FAQs

What is executive cyber security training?

A focused session that helps senior leaders understand why they are the most valuable targets in their organisation, and how to reduce that risk. It covers the attacks aimed at executives, such as CEO fraud, impersonation and AI-generated deepfakes, as well as the personal online exposure attackers use to reach them.

Who should attend an executive workshop?

Chief executives, finance directors, board members, non-executive directors, operations leads, heads of IT and business owners. It works best with the whole leadership team in the room, because the defences that matter, such as dual authorisation and call-backs, only work when everyone uses them.

How long is the workshop and how is it delivered?

45 minutes, delivered in person at your offices: a 30-minute workshop followed by 15 minutes of open Q&A. It is a conversation rather than a presentation, and no technical knowledge is needed.

How much does an executive workshop cost?

£2,000 per session for your whole leadership team. Every workshop is tailored to your sector and the people in the room, so your leaders hear about the threats most relevant to them.

What happens in the live deepfake demonstration?

We show, live, how AI can clone a senior leader's face and voice from publicly available material, and put it in context with real cases such as the 2024 Arup fraud, where an employee transferred around £20 million after a video call in which every other participant was a deepfake. Where the demonstration uses a member of your team, we agree it and obtain their written consent in advance.

Why are executives targeted by cyber criminals?

Because of what they can do and what is known about them. Executives approve payments, set policy and carry authority that attackers impersonate, and their public profiles, from LinkedIn to media appearances, hand attackers the material to do it convincingly.

How is this different from security awareness training for staff?

Staff awareness training is usually delivered online to the whole workforce and builds everyday habits. Executive training is built around the decisions only leaders make: approving payments, setting budgets, signing off policy, and answering to customers and regulators when something goes wrong.

What is HackRisk?

HackRisk is CyberLab's human cyber risk platform. It scans your external attack surface, scores what it finds as a HackRisk Score, and delivers a board-ready report with remediation advice. The workshop is part of the same programme, and every session includes onboarding to the platform.

What happens after the workshop?

Your team leaves with prioritised next steps they can act on the same day. We also onboard you to the HackRisk platform so you can see and track your organisation's exposure, and you can start with a free report at any time.
